The entry wall

A corner shot view catching both water features.

judges select award winning gardens at the
23rd annual san francisco flower & garden show

(San Francisco, Calif. March 11, 2008) – Awards were presented for display gardens at the San Francisco Flower & Garden Show tonight at the Cow Palace. The daunting task of judging the show gardens was given to a panel of three judges handpicked for their extensive horticultural and design knowledge. This year’s judging panel consisted of David Stevens, Lucy Hardiman and C. Colston Burrell. In addition to selecting the garden that is “best of show” – the Golden Gate Cup – the three judges also determined how well the gardens achieved their declared design objectives and the quality of execution. They presented gold, silver, bronze or crystal awards to the following display gardens.

michelle - I love love loved your garden!!! I was a guest blogger for the show and mentioned how your garden snuck up on me in my review. I didnt know that you had won the award when I saw your design but I'm not surprised at all. It was amazing. Congrats - Nice work!

Congratulations. I've been following the building of the exhibit here and find it extremely gratifying to see that it came out so well and was so well appreciated.

From watching it come together and seeing your pitfalls as it progressed, I feel like I had a part in it too. You really get invested in people's projects when you read about them on these blogs!

BRAVO!! (Sound of hands clapping and tired east coast designer jumping up and down.)

Even with the lack of color correction it's absolutely beautiful. Warm, welcoming, visually exciting without being over designed. Restraint is the most difficult thing to do. BRAVO BRAVO BRAVO.

Woo Hoo! Best in Show, can't beat that. Truly beautiful and I must echo Susan. It is more clean lined and restrained seeing it put together than I would have imagined in my mind. It is completely full without being overwhelming.

I was there on Wednesday. A true master piece. A lot of people missed the shower part, maybe because the tub is so mesmerizing! Loved that carved wood buddha's hand too.

This is great to see the details - it helps to think about 'how to make things' not only 'how beautiful it looks'.
Thank you for sharing this :)
Greetings from over Poland.

Everything looks so nice, great job on everything and winning an award, you deserve it! You worked really hard and worked people really hard on the exhibit...lol. I love every inch of it. I think it was karma and good design that won you the award after running into a crummy time last year.

I like the shot of the two water features shown in the same frame, thats the best.
