Wow, do you know what they finished the trellis with? It looks illuminous!

Christine,
We have solar panels waiting to be installed.
They will provide much needed shade to this sitting area and also provide an energy source to the house.

I was surprised when I went up to the site to take these photos. I was expecting the panels to be on and the new furniture unpacked and set up on the deck.

Hopefully this week that will happen.

Matti, thanks for your thoughts. It was quite a transformation.

Are you and Chavez not working as a team anymore...

Patrick,
Miguel and I still work together but we don't operate as a single company.
Long story with a good ending. All is well.
We've been pounding rocks, rebar and dirt clods together for almost 20 years.
His nephew ( also a Chavez ) is at the helm of the biz now and we hope to expand into the commercial market as well as keep the residential design operational.

Hi Christine,
Sorry for the delayed answer.
The trelllis is cedar and they used a sealer that I was not familiar with. It was a series of 3 letters followed by a number.
I'll try to find out from the painters.
