Well it is about time that I do another photo instalment of my trip to Barcelona.
Without further delay ( and worthless excuses ) here they are :
At the most popular entrance ( there are many ) to Park Guell there are two beautiful gate houses.
The gate house shown below houses a lovely gift shop.
I did not go into the gate house on the left .
This retaining wall located just past the gate houses is covered with ceramic mosaic tiles
As you walk up the stairs past the famous mosaic lizard you reach the underside of the plaza
A view of the columns holding up the upper plaza
Details in the iron work fence that is located next to the columns and walkway
Another view of the columns with the upper plaza and the undulating sitting area .
At the far end of the plaza is some incredibly creative stone work.
Walking up the stairs to another level beyond is another park room
The next day we visited La Sagrada Familia , Antonio Gaudi’s swan song.
A shot taken inside one of the spires.
Outside of the church
Inside the construction zone
drippy stone work
inside the main entrance
I found observing the construction extremely exciting and educational
