It has been a joy working in the studio again and receiving feedback from neighbors, friends and colleagues as they stop by for a chat and a look.
One of my favorite mosaic artist, Sonia King is coming to the Bay Area to teach a workshop. Her web site : http://soniaking.com/
I’m considering taking her class but unfortunately it coincides with the same dates as the upcoming Late Show Gardens.
I’m conflicted.
Some of Sonia’s work :

I’m also in awe of Emma Biggs work. Her web site : http://www.emmabiggsmosaic.net/03_work.html
I find her textural tapestry of tesserae overwhelmingly beautiful.
She is currently having a show that looks fascinating. See her website for more information about the York, St. Mary’s project of which some of the images below are taken of.

Beautiful work! Thanks for the links.
Wow! Sonia's work at that Childrens' Hospital is amazing.
Tough choice about the workshop or the gardens, I would lean towards going to the workshop if you think you would get some great tips and techniques out of it.
Stunning work and photos! Don't you hate that when you have to chose between 2 fabulous things to do? I'm sure which ever you chose you will enjoy.
My God those patterns and colours are stunning - makes me want to find a class here and try it recreate my own mental images in mosaic...
Chris in Toronto
Stunning...both. I am in awe.
I just posted some mosaic work in Brazil...full of passion...and work!
Very cool! I've always loved mosaics! I've never tried one with anything other than scrapbooking pictures though.
