A slow day at the office

It pains me to say it, but its been really slow around here for the last few weeks.
Most of the projects that we've been working on are being wrapped up and I'm getting
that anxious feeling.

In the past 27 years I've had more work than I could handle so this 'cup half empty' syndrome
is really unnerving me.

I suppose I could drive out to one of our installation projects and nose around, but it really
isn't necessary and it would just be wasting gas.
Sigh.

So instead I'm fooling around with the computer , which is just another way of stalling the act of cleaning and organizing my office, which I find dreadfully boring and uninspiring.

Well here's to all my old clients, Happy Holidays ! , ... and if you were thinking of doing 'phase II ' to your last landscape project, I'm ready , willing and able !

Cause this fooling around with the computer stuff is starting to become boring too.

Happy holidays to all.
And may we all have a creative and busy new year.
Michelle

Well you may be bored, but those cut sheets are absolutely lovely! I find myself living among piles of unorganized office myself. Whenever I clean, I get so excited about the extra space that I create a new project and make a mess all over again. Sigh. Here's to a more prosperous (and less boring) New Year for all of us!

I'm finishing a job now for a new home & the landscape makes it feel like the house in Father Of The Bride. Now. No waiting. It's amazing what landscaping can do to age a house with love, comfort, joy, beauty & rooms to use outside.

Why tell you this? I wish labor, plants, hardscaping could all be free. A free landscape for everyone. As necessary as the air you breath.

It's the only thing I want to do; put in landscapes. Always. I sense the same within you.

Alas we have to charge. Living isn't cheap!

I am sorry to hear this, I wish I had a lead or two for you. Your words of support for my little injury have been so appreciated, I wish I knew just the right thing to say to inspire hope for big projects in the New Year.

Hi Christine,
I like your take on cleaning the office, only to have more room to create more projects !
I agree, here's to a more prosperous and less boring new year !

Tara,
Thanks for sharing you point of perspective.
It can be hard for those of us who live for making gardens. When there isn't a project to deal with its like missing a day without nourishment.

Loree,
Thanks for your support.
I was just speaking with my good friend and we were lamenting that the NEW BIG jobs are those which we used to consider a tiny fun project.
I don't care if it is a big or small job. I just want to be busy with creative work.... I'd even take some boring work !
I sure hope this economy gets moving along in the right direction soon.
Too many people going without the basic needs such as shelter, heat, proper nourishment and a job that makes them feel good about them selves.
The guys that I have worked with side by side for the past 17 years have all left the area due to lack of work. It's painful to see.

It's been slow for me too. I wonder what next year will bring...

...Um...I will happily donate my yard for you to practice on.

You know, for the benevolent sake of keeping you sharp...and busy.

Yep.

Hey MIchelle, Maybe a trip to the magic workshop would inspire a day of creativety and blow off the blues. Having been inspired by your work for over a decade, I am sure others feel the same about your talent. Perhaps you could design a line of garden sculpture, pots. Etc... I know I would buy some of those Acron planters. There is a market for stuff if its unique. You could put your name on the line and promote your business at the same time. Heck, you have so many awards, your Famous! Even the Goddess wants to photograph your digs, And think how much she would like premiering a hot new line of garden goods (she might even pick it up). The glass is always half full for you dear,
Happy Holidaze,
Patrick

It's amazing how busy we all were 18 months ago and how quickly it has slowed down...t o a t r i c k l e
But...being a glass half full type a trickle can turn into a stream and in turn a river. Here's to some white water in the next year!

Michelle, rather than clean the office, create some of your signature ceramic heads/pots thingies and flog them on Etsy. Blog readers get first dibs!
