I wanted to share with you the images of the results.
At one point in the process we contemplated using artificial turf for the lawn area but it absorbed too much heat and was too hot underfoot .
So we decided on Eco-turf instead.

I think their family dog likes the results.

Wow! I have to admit, when you first posted about this I was skeptic. This looks incredible! Are the water savings significant compared to a conventional lawn?

Quite a bit significant, especially in this location.
The water is fairly scarce and pricey in this location and the soil is practically 100 % sand- super fast draining except when there is a high tide and the water table shifts underground.
At a few points during the installation at different times of the year I would dig a hole in the sand and watch the water rise over the course of the day.
This house is just a few yards from the beach - nestled on a spit in between the ocean and a lagoon. Not an easy place to plant and a difficult site to grade . To make matter worse they have a septic field.
Cool... very, very cool!
